I've been given an iPhone 3GS locked to 02, and I want to use my 3 sim card in it, to take advantage of my minutes, texts and net for £10 a month.

Is this possible, it isn't jailbroken yet but am I right in thinking I will have to do so in order to unlock it? I've had a quick flick through the stickied thread and it seems easy enough.

I've googled and seen these 'dodgy' sites that will do it for a small free, but was hoping either I could do it myself safely and cheaply, or get it done more officially from 02 or something.

Thanks y'all

Or do the jailbreak where it updates your baseband and it will be unlocked forever?

There is no jailbreak that will currently unlock a phone for ever.

They all require you keeping an old baseband. Update to the latest one and bang its gone.

Best way is the offical route as then it will be properly unlocked.

please tell me you are not thinking about the ipad baseband ? this is irreversible and voids the warranty. Deffo go official if possible, jailbreak and unlock if last option IMO

Cheers guys, for the sake of £15 I'll probably go down the official route.
