Has anyone else been in this position?

Im buying a second hand Vectra Dti, 05plate, from a "respectable" garage. Put deposit down last Tuesday 1st of Feb, was told it would be ready for Monday (7th feb), phoned up, wasent ready as a new window regulator was needed, wouldnt be delivered till Tuesday morning, then car would be ready that night. Phoned up Tuesday around 4ish, car wasent ready as they sent the wrong part out, promised it would be ready for Wednesday night. So phoned up Wednesday night, car STILL wasent ready, as the part was been delivered from Glenrothes and they dont deliver on Wednesdays, so i was one again promised it would be done for the following day (today). Got phone call today, said it was ready bla bla, come down at 5 pick it up etc, went at 5 oclock, car still wasent ready and still had to be valeted, so salesman said he would phone once its done, still hasent phoned, he also said that they need it back for a day during the week for MOT.

Now, to me typing that out, i must look like a complete tit, but im getting a good deal with the car, it has low miles, f/s/h etc, so im holding out really. Been talking to my dad, and i came up with, when he phones me tonight, tell him to keep the car, MOT tomorrow morning, have it ready for 4 in the afternoon, and if he cant guarentee that itll be done, the deal will be off! Also, having lost 11days road tax aswell, i should be getting something in exchange if i go ahead and take the car, full tank of Diesel? But there giving me NEW MATS, awesome.

What do yous lot think?

I'd try and get the most out of them you can, you've lost as you've said 11 days tax, and just make up some bullsh*it like you needed the car for work and because you didnt get it when you were told you were you've had to get a taxi to work and it costs you like £15 a day, just get as much as you can out of them because they told you a date and they're fuckin you about

Main dealers are a set of cunts.

Never bought a car from a dealer myself, but the GF bought one last year, i did all the ringing up all the time, had to kick off to get repairs done. When we first vued it, it was due a service, i said it needs doing to which they agreed to do it, picked the car up and checked oil and air filter, NEITHER had been changed, kicked off some more, got them to sort it, got a tank of fuel and some mats too for fucking us about.
