Im going to look at re-designing our companies website shortly, we recently had someone in to take a look who created the following: www.bridgesltd.co.uk/new
I think it looks nice to begin with, but its very image heavy and since ive been looking at it some more, it already seems outdated to me.
Im going to attempt to come up with some designs/ideas myself, and wondered if anyone had any modern, clean, different looking websites I could look at for inspiration?
Im not looking to rip off another website, but when Im starting from scratch I generally like bits and pieces from various sites (headers, links, images etc) and base the site on something similar.
Any websites that jump out and look good would be appreciated

Personally I quite like what you've got ready. Your logo looks out of date to be fair, and the background makes things a bit old fashioned.
I'd go with a lighter, simpler background and leave pretty much everything else.

That doesn't look too bad - I've seen worse.

hmm... Ive posted the same question elsewhere and people have said similar comments.
I might mess about with the existing and see what it looks like.
I think I need to ditch the background though.
Thanks for the above links, that gives me alot to look through!

Far to much flash! after the 4th link i decided to not even look at any more, Flash does not work in the corporate environment IMO, Flash is ok for portfolio sites only, and media companys who want to stand out.

The only issue is designers/developers using Flash when other technologies are more suited - big example that you often seen are fading text/image/logo banners being done in Flash when JQuery/Mootools/JS will happily do that. Other than that I don't see an issue of any website, including corporate sites, using Flash as long as it's used appropriately and can be justified (ie: interactivity).
Also don't get the gripe that people (a lot of it seems to come from the Apple camp) have with Flash, there isn't another web technology that comes remotely close to the capabilities of Flash especially when you included Flash's ability to be deployed on multiple platforms.
Bart - The 'new' site design is pretty decent but i do think that it looks a little Wordpress theme-esque mainly due to the 'Quick Contact' form and out-of-place/generic icons used for the headers (ie: 'Latest Headlines'/'Our Services').
