Just wondering i see people on here buying new cars like 08 plate just wondering do you buy them outright or take a loan or finance?

I started from the bottom and worked my way up. Got a small £2k loan for my first car then as long as I made the same money back as the final loan payment got smaller I just paid the loan off in full and started over again with a larger loan for a more expensive car.
