Mine and the Mrs anniversary next month, she mentioned a little while ago that she wanted to go on a helicopter, just checked prices etc and seems reasonable for a tour of londons sites, airport is near where we live too which is handy.

Has anyone done it before? Reccomend it? waste of money?

Just fancy doing summin different from the norm

cheers guys

Find a flying school, as most of them will offer trial lessons - it's a loophole in the law as they'd need a different operating licence to do tours or sightseeing trips. For a fixed wing it should cost about £150-£200 an hour, and for rotary you're looking at £200+ an hour. The trail lessons can be between 30 and 60 mins though and a short flight is generally enough.

Helicopters are surreal. The one I went in felt like sitting in a car, but flying about. Cool though.
