Just bought a bike for summer and it needs some new brake pads I think. Now I know fuck all about bikes, but its got hope calipers on it and looks like 4 pads per caliper. My question is, like cars are these pads all different depending on caliper model etc? Or are all the ones for Hope calipers the same?

Where would be the cheapest place for a full set both back and front, just recreational riding.

Chain Reaction I used to order shit loads from. Very good prices.

Pretty sure Dales are Hope dealers but cheap they are not!

Did think about trying Dales but thought they'd be expensive. Might take it up see what pads it needs then buy them online

Hmm, still not sure what I need! Anyone know if when changing the pads do I need to bleed the calipers or anything? I'll need to buy a bike book or join a forum with tutorials

with the old pads in place use a screw drivers between them and gently lever them back, so you are pushing the pistons in the caliper back in.

then you just pull pads out and refit, making sure you get the springs correct, although this is from doing my avids.

will find a link to a useful site in a min
