some advice from a lady I was speaking to at customs@Fedex about sending stuff to america and bringing it back

The problem also arises that if a person is bringing the items with them on the plane the declared US Customs value is much higher, I think $600 usd. Today with airlines fees people ship things home assuming it would be cheaper than paying extra for their luggage. So to answer your question. Any shipment you send of textiles will have to be less than $200 usd to avoid the individual having to complete any paperwork. This information is required for all carriers. All packages have to clear US Customs.
