its coming from the exhaust up front but i cant find were?
it rattles when in idle (900-1000rpm) and its driving me mental cause it sounds like a bag o spanners down there.
its a 12v 3 cylinder.
any suggestions? or ways to solve it??

might be your exhaust is fucked up at the front - mine was like this around 3000 rpm - just needs replacing!

ive looked under the car. cant find nowt wrong. think its the cat. :s

I had the same and found it to be a heat shield on the exhaust where it branches fom the exhaust to the manifold(somewhere round there anyway) Just get a screw driver and prise it off if its that!!!

commom fault on z10xe engines is cat support bracket snapped - theres a 5mm support bar welded to the cat at the front - these tend to break and vibrate - either remove it or reweld bracket
(Vauhall do a modified bracket to cure this problem)

that may be it fearless... i'll get the weilding gear out this morning and melt the bugger to oblivion! probly snapped when i crashed the car a few months back.

okay i had a look at that part.. its fine... the rattle more under the car then the cat. i have a sound clip here but cant upload anywere to let you all hear it.

I have a standard 1.0 12v and it also has that annoying rattle in the exhaust somewhere up front. I hear it when it's idle and when it moves off. I have no idea where its coming from, I've had a look under and cant find anything.
