what would b quicker? a lightly modded gsi or a fiesta with the 1700 puma racing engine? both without mental money being sent on

Even withcorsa running same power as a standard puma lump fiesta will still be quicker and out handle it.

Racing Puma engined Fiesta would probably give an XE Corsa a good go never mind a 1600 Gsi.
Even a standard 1.7 Puma would be quicker than a Corsa Gsi.
Fiesta isnt that much lighter than the Puma, and the Puma handles better.

As above really, Fiestas/Pumas are actually nice to drive lol
1.6 16v Vx engines also feel a bit gutless by comparison to the 1.7 Ford

Well to give you another idea, my mk5 zetec s with manifold, cat back system inc de-cat and panel filter never had an issue pulling away from any corsa's other than an xe.

Lack of driver skill will be the only reason a Puma engined Fiesta lost.
My mate used to own one, and that wasn't far off the pace of my XE'd Corsa imo.

i had a ''race'' with a 1.6 sport in my mk6 zetec s. it was close but the corsa got in front.
my puma feels quite a bit quicker than my fiesta so can imagine it would win.
