How hard are they to put together?? Do they come with the right tools or are they just put together using a spanner?
Im planning on ordering a couple of these for me and the missus just to knock about on over the summer to try and get a bit of fitness back, and need something cheap that can be left outside to rot if I cant find space in my shed for it...
This one has V Brakes

Now I know they are not exactly going to be top quality but for £69 I don't really care, it cant be any worse than a Halfords special my parents bought me for Christmas that lasted a good 5 years...

Spend your budget on something without front and rear suspension. Just front suspension if you want it will be better than that one. Can depend how incomplete each bike is, sometimes it just a matter of attaching handlebars and pedals which are standard tools.

Find me something that cheap without suspension? Ive never had a susp bike, nor one with discs, seems a bit high tech for me really on a push bike. I'm really not arsed what features its got, as long as it doesnt empty my wallet..

LeeM - what exactly would be wrong with it though? How can it be worse than no suspension at all? If worst came to worst and it actually broke, it would just go back to being a non-suspension bike?

That will be a 20" frame. All adults bikes are 26" wheels but the frame height is changeable, so they will come in 16, 18, 20 and 22"
Cheep ass full suspension bikes are like riding pogo stick, i wouldnt bother

cheap companents, it'll be bouncy as hell and uncomfortable

I would be looking for a cheap hardtail mate. The ones you linked are going to be really crap. You won't be able to lock out the rear suspension so it's gonna be difficult to ride on flats. As others have said, you'll be bouncing around all over the place.

Chrissy we don't have that sort of cash, also I have no idea what or why I would want to lock the suspension? It's purely for road riding, also its only 17kgs, hardly heavy?

If you doing road riding just get a second hand rigid or hardtail mate.
17kg's is damn heavy for a bike

Coz you're gonna find it hard to get any power down if you can't lock it out. I have no idea why you would look at a mountain bike when it's purely for road riding.

Danny, full suspension is designed for bikes used on downhill courses and more extreme offroading. Cheap bikes like that only have it as a gimmick, it would in no way be usable offroad because it is crap and cheap suspension and because it has full suspension it will be a pig to use on the road. For road riding ideally you have no suspension, any bouncing up and down is a waste of energy and doesn't benefit you. A lot of people like the idea of suspension even if its not really what they need, but a hardtail (front suspension only) offers best of both worlds. Basically the more moving parts you have the more likely it is to go wrong, when its a cheap bike to start its not a great start.
I used to work in a bike shop and it was such hard work convincing people that they were better of spending the same money on a hard tail than the full sus crap. Its the same with disc brakes now, these are found on expensive bikes and now they produce cheap gimmicky versions on cheap bikes where you are better off getting V brakes that cost the same

My mates Giant glory DH rig weighs less than 17kg! It is seriously heavy.
You not able to do a cycle to work scheme or anyhting?
And im the same as simon, i work in a bike shop, have done for 4 years, people dont seem to realize that you really really get what you pay for with bikes.
The amount of cheepy bikes we get in to repair from places like this is crazy, alot of the times the parts that need replacing add up to the price of the bike easily. A new rear wheel - £30, new chain +cassette £25, bottom brackets £15. It all adds up, especially on a cheeper bike where these components are crap quality from the start.
Do not buy a full susser

But jacko I literally cannot spare more than 70 ish for a bike that will get used 3 times a week and will be left outside, what's the point in spending 200 on something good which will rot in 6 months or get picked anyway?

BTW thanks for the comments, I'm not having a go at anyone nor do you need to convince me of what I need, I would rather not have full susp but the ones without it are more expensive!
