It is yes, I remember seeing an extension lead designed for a pc thet you plugged the PC into a specific socket on the lead and when it detected current drawn it turned on the power to the other plugs. so when you turned off your pc, all the accesories turned off automatically. If you find one of those you could do what you want to do.

This?
Not sure if they'd turn on automatically or just off though
Or get a remote control one

This one?
Auto Power Strip ES-UK1002
This is what I meant
"The main control equipment (PC or TV for example) is plugged into the control socket, your peripheral equipment is connected to the auto sockets. When the main equipment is turned off the unit senses the drop in power levels and will automatically cut the power to the auto sockets. When the main equipment is turned on again the process is reversed."

Yeah i know the one you mean, i had two of them elite systems and they both went on me. Must have been unlucky as they were both well ventilated.
Tempted to buy another but the smaller version this time.
Idea with the lights looks good by the way! May just need to reposition them so they are a little less bright when playing

the lights werent fitted, i just wired them up to make sure the adapter idea worked.
they will be recessed into the side of the wall, 2 either side of the tv, and hopefully get some 'cool blue' bulbs, so its not as bright.

last video is a lot better. I would try led strip lighting/led downlights. last longer and get a better type of light from them
