mate of mine has just moved house and been told that it will take 2 weeks to connect the lines

can he use a wifi thats next door its secure but what software could he use to get round it he is a windows uses like myself so Linux is no help lol

i told him to go round with a few beers and just ask (if it was me i would tell him to get knotted) but it may be nice just to ask

If it was open i'd personally say fair play but as it is secure then it's a bit cheeky to forcefully gain access. Although it's illegal eitherway. As you said, get him to pop round with a few beers/decent bottle of wine and see what they say. Otherwise do what Brett said and use a 3G dongle for a few weeks.

If anyone (i.e. a neighbour) asked me if they could use my Internet I'd tell them to fuck off!

The one and only time I let anyone use my Internet was a housemate from a place I was living at many years ago, I only let her use it because she was fit and she used to make nice food!
