Be aware of the differences between polish and wax, they are not the same thing. Polish prepares the paint, get's rid of some fine marks etc. Wax then goes on top to protect. If you have a light coloured car consider an acrylic sealer rather than a wax.

SRP is a single product not a stage, its a all in one (AIO) polish, its made by Autoglym.
There are loads of different AIO's some more expensive.
As dave said above, go on DW and you will learn a lot! They are all very helpful on there and will never laugh at a question asked, even if it is stupid!
Everyone has to start somewhere and they all understand that
So fire away at them and they will be friendly!
Make sure you read the Newbie section first as it will probably tell you most of what you need to know
