Tried taking the standard stereo out of my corsa B. I believe its the newer one as it doesnt have a cassette player. managed to get some stereo keys and it came out a bit. but now its stuck about a 1/3 of the way and it wont budge. what might be stopping it?

try getting some flat, thin bits of metal and sliding them rite to the back and then pulling out at a angle as i think it'll have a metal case around the cd player inside that hooks it in place

Theres screws holding it in at the back isnt there?

nope, standard stereo should be remove the allen key screws for the holes then use standard stereo pins to remove the stereo its self, once its out you unclip the ariel wired and iso fitting from the rear then bend the cage and pull it out, maybe one of the plugs is jammed in it? if not then yank it out
