I have been working for my Dad's company for some years now doing roofing. After over 3 years on the tools, we have decided a golden opportunity has come for me to run the roofing supplies side of the business.
At the moment, all sales and stock is recording shambolically in a crappy folder and everything is booked out via pen and paper, not good.
I have discussed new ways of going about this with my Dad and have decided to invest in a computer based system where we can book out and generally keep track of sales/stock etc. under one program.
I have heard Quick Books is a good program for this but could anyone else advise me of software options? Does anyone use Quick books? Cheers all

Quickbooks is an accounting package. It is used for all the bookkeeping, invoicing, managament accs etc.

What system does this at the minute, or do you send your accountant a load of invoices at year end.

IMO, quickbooks is shit. I much prefer working with Sage Line 50. Its so much better thought out and flexible. May be more expensive though, Ive never bought it, but that'd be something to look into if you're looking to computerise your books.
