How can petrol in Venezuela be so cheap? Where are the profit margins there?

maybe because the oil is extracted directly from underneath the station?

so carriage charges are nil.

and maybe the govt dont put a duty on it like they do here?

they probably make enough profit on selling to other countries, so they dont have to screw over their own.

its pretty cheap in amerca too.

and the middle east.

i thought this, but i dont think the media can get away with mentioning ASDA. Bad press.

ASDA would be able to file a law suit against them if this wasnt true im sure.

Would also be the most pointless April fools joke aswell.

Ok fair enough if it said "OMG 12p fuel at (whatever ASDA it is) still goes uncorrected and hundereds of people flocked to check it out....

it makes an interesting read whether its still on offer or not.

but it isnt.

the editor would make more money filling up jerry cans and stocking it up, rather than writing about it so every fker finds out.

Had a quick look why it's so cheap in Venezuela, found this; http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2011/mar/15/problem-insanely-low-petrol-prices

shocking.

They certainly know how to protest.

Perhaps if our protesters were similarly appropriately and strategically targetted and violent, then our fuel might not be quite so unfairly taxed by our government.

Probably not though. Our 'democracy' is a farce.

Last time some people kicked off in a protest most people thought they were knobs and that it was ok for David Cameron to change his policy after his party got into power.
