So approx. 3 months in to Mini ownership and I am really used to the way it accelerates now. It is fast and the speedo goes round pretty quickly, everyone that goes in it thinks its rapid but I feel I need more, feels normal now. Funny how quickly you adjust. I thought it was a rocket ship when I first got it Doesn't matter what you have you always ending up wanting more, maybe I will get it remapped after all This happened in my A3 too.
Still love it though, the way it goes round corners

What Ben said, a year of ownership and mine still feels rapid to me. When I'm off work and drive the car alot I get used to the speed very quickly, which has nearly got me in trouble a few times!

I've done quite a few miles in it recently so that'll be what's brought it on. Wish I could afford to buy and insure a van for mountain biking and generally knocking around in to keep this feeling a bit more special!
I was throwing it through some corners last night at 100-105 and thinking this doesn't feel all that quick Few weeks ago I'd of had a hard on over it

That doesn't seem to work for me after about 5 minutes though
I drive round in the van 90% of the time, so the Mini is now just a toy for evenings and weekends, but within 5 mins or so of getting in it, it just feels normal again!
I'm the same as Matt - it used to feel quick, now I just want more!

I need to find a way to buy a VW Caddy and keep this for fun. Caddy's are so damn expensive though.

That won't help make the Mini feel quick - a mapped Caddy will be rather rapid too

Every car ive had felt rapid for about 2 weeks and then normal.
Even the boxed Astra CDTi felt slow after a bit until the gearbox went.
If you remap it, it will feel quick again for a few months then you'll be back to square one £600 lighter.

know what you mean you just get used to it
lately as the weathers been better i've been taking the traction control off and it gave me a wee surprise for all of two minutes then just got used to it
(traction control can be quite restrictive on the gti and cuts the power quite a bit)

When I got my Corsa I actually thought I would need to sell it on since it seemed like it was just too fast for me That was going from my first car, an spi 1.6 mk3 astra right enough.
It used to be great when I had to go somewhere in the work van. I'd come back, park the van up then jump in the motor - the thing would feel like a go-kart in comparison.

In fairness though without sounding rude a Cooper S is hardly the quickest of cars in standard form, from my experience anyway. Smaller pulley and remap however, then they are rapid!

Agree with all above with regards to run abouts. Can't remember the last time I drove the VXR, but it's gonna feel like a rocket ship compared to the 1.25 Fiesta I pootle round in

What I like with mine is the full potential is only there if you push the sport button. So you're not constantly using it and when you do you are still not used to it or become bored of it.

And mine's a JCW so doesn't too badly for itself either Did well against the latest Type-R and a Scirocco TSI the other night anyway
