if you where caught at 90mph wouldn't they of stopped at the next junction and then given you the talk on speeding and then give you the prize for speeding

20mph over the limit is likely to be a fixed penalty.

That's what I thought, but the cop with the speed gun didn't even move, he was just sitting there still aiming the gun towards the cars.

Hmmm... well as I was originally doing 90 then slowed to 80, I would have thought they would only get me on the average speed, which of course would be 85...?!

you shouldnt get done then should you? if they don't give chase, as they usually have another car down at the next junction to pull you over and make you blow in a straw

I got done in a 30 limit doing 30% over - ie 42mph with a fixed penalty. 85-90 on a motorway is hardly driving like a psycho is it?

I too got done for doing 42 in a 30, presumably you were flashed by a Gatso, as I was?

So you reckon I should be OK as I was only doing 80-90 then? Do they normally have a threshold that people have to cross ie. 100mph or so?

I've never known anyone to go to court for speeding on a motorway doing less than 100mph. That time I was caught by a mobile van, wankers.

Not that I'm aware of, only sometimes police cars on the hard shoulder.

The M25 has some Gatso cameras hidden behind the overhead signs though...

They have trialled fixed site gantry Gatso's above the Northbound section of the M40 between J1 and J3, but I think these have been taken down now.
