Im after a 3 door GLS, insurance seems to be cheaper on them than the equivalent engined models. i.e for me a 1.4 16v GLS is couple of hundred £'s cheaper that 1.2 16v SXi - But then again insurance is a joke these days!

Because insurance is based on statistics and therefore daft.

If its an 8v i wouldn't bother they are dog slow, they are even slower than the 1L.

Might explain why I can insure a 1.6 Sport for £800 but a GSi costs £3,000 to insure

Also insurance goes on badge's, i.e a 1.2 SXi will be more than a 1.2 GLS to insure, due to the SXi having the sporty name.

Does anyone know why the 1.2 8v is group 3 insurance whereas the 1.0 12v with 10 more bhp is group 1? there must be a reason for that
