format c:
in DOS.

Before you do it, make sure you have all driver CD's for your video card, sound card, modem etc. Also that you have a windows disk ( and possibly a boot floppy depending on how old the PC is )

in c:\ type format c: <enter>

a warning pops up. just press <enter>
and it formats it.

then get a windows bootable floppy and reset the comp. with it in. the disk will load and select 'CD needed thing'. insert win98 disk and type in c:\ "cd d:\" which will change u to ur CD drive if it is 'D' the simply type setup and follow instructions.
