Thinking about hitting this festival next year...
http://coachella.com/
Anyway, I guess I'm wanting informtaion from anyone thats been to America! I've personally never been out of Europe. I had a look on Sky Scanner earlier and it seems the cheapest flight from London is around the £1,200 mark. Would want to be staying a week I guess... do you reckon I could do the whole thing £2,000 inclusive? Or is £2,500 more realistic, haven't really looked into hotel costs etc. yet!

Haven't been, but would love to go! Seems like an awesome festival to go to, Incredibly hot though!
Should be able to get it for £2k inclusive really, would of thought you'd be able to get flights for less than £1,200 tbh as well, but I guess they know it's going to be busy, so can charge more, might be worthwhile seeing if you can get a fly/drive to Vegas, for a lot cheaper and drive from there to the festival?
edit - I think it's in Arizona? hence the Vegas idea I could be completely wrong though! Nevermind, looks like i'm completely wrong and it's in California Could probably find a fly/drive holiday a bit further away and drive/camp for the few days though

To be honest you're on the right lines there though, flights to other places are a lot cheaper, then less than £100 to get over to California. Plus that way I get to see more of America...
At the moment it's between this trip or going to Amsterdam, bit different I know!

I would certainly go with Cavey's idea, fly somewhere close that's cheaper, and then drive / bus it to where you need to get to

California is around a 4 hour drive from Vegas.
California is on west coast hence "west coast customs"
