Do they crack over time?

Didn't think the tailgate flexed very much, i have been told they r shite and will crack.

What to do?

There was a message posted somewhere on here about the Fiberglass version being bad quality, but not sure on what happens when on the car have a search it might say in there

mite crack in time with the boot slamin dwn after time etc, i went with weldin after cos ur spose 2 take the window out 2 fit them tidy

doesn't having a plate welded make the tailgate alot heavier?
I had a smooth tail gate on my nova with a plate welded on and the boot wouldn't stay open, u had to hold it open!
