Can't you just open up a case in eBay and cancel the transaction? You then get your fees credited back in full.

Then you're the thing that's wrong with eBay It's his error, why should Steve be charged for it?

Steve wouldnt be charged for it.

Technically, steve is selling as a business, as it is for profit. Therefore Distant selling regulations kick in. They could buy something, recieve it, say sorry its slightly the wrong colour, return it, and you have to pay there return postage, as well as refund in full (including original postage)

Im hardly the thing thats wrong with ebay

Are you providing a service for a profit? If so, you should be paying tax on it. Therefore, you would be a sole trader/business

You pay tax on anything above 0, its VAT you pay after 68k.

You also have to pay NI for being self employed, although you would be exempt if earning somewhere under 6k.

Not saying you should be doing it all, as your not exactly doing big bucks. But if you was to upset the wrong person saying you want 20% etc, they could stitch you up some way im sure.

Something like that, but that also takes into account your PAYE earnings. So most people would be eligible to pay tax on extra income
