My EML comes on fairly frequently now, and when i put the clutch down it stalls. Once started again the light goes off and it runs fine. The EML usually only comes on when i am slowing down and leaving the car in gear, if i coast it doesn't come on.

Any idea what this could be? and how expensive it could be to fix?

Its the 8v sri I take it, clean the ICV on the throttle body and also check there`s no air leak`s mate

done that and it still happens code reader said something to do with the matrix
