the cheapo b&q doors are good enough.

they wouldn't sell them if they just fell apart.

You can buy pine doors cheaper that that anyway. Keep your eye out on sales from Focus as the Administration starts to take over

£27 seems pretty steep for an eggbox door, I've seen the softwood ones for about £15.
They are a bit more time consuming to decorate if you are painting them but if you are renting out there is less chance of somebody putting their fist/foot through.

I was on a housing job a bit back and we were getting hollow core doors exactly the same as these http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9976514&fh_view_size=10&fh_eds=%3f&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB%2fcategories%3C{9372016}%2fcategories%3C{9372049}%2fcategories%3C{9372274}%2fcategories%3C{9392104}%2fspecificationsProductType%3dmoulded_doors&fh_refview=lister&isSearch=false

but for £8 each!

I've got some lovely pine ones in my place. Off the shelf in Focus (albeit installed before I bought the place - I've seen the exact same on sale). Look much more expensive than they were with a decent coat of stain over the top.

for solid oak doors you are looking around £100 each

or do you just want paper faced doors?

True solid oak doors would be 3-4 times that amount an you will struggle to get them off the shelf.

Most oak doors by the big manufacturers are a thin veneer of real oak over a chipboard or softwood core with oak edgings and mouldings.
They look nice and are perfectly adequate for interior doors, just be careful if you need to take a lot off, often you only get 6mm edgings on each side.
