Well, you've only really got the choice of two, either 195/45/16's or 205/40/16's. The 205/40/16s are only about 0.25" bigger than 195/45/15's so you won't lose alot of speed with them, also, they look good because there lower profile and I suppose being wider they'd offer more grip  hands down winner I'd say. 195/45/16's are almost as big as 205/40/17's so you'd need to do some work to fit the wheels and you'd lose a decent amount of speed but these would be the cheaper option.

If your offset is at least 45et or greater you shouldnt need any work at all to put 195/45/16's on with a 40mm drop?!

i work for ats mate so i get tyres cheap i can afford to get either the 40 or 45 cheers for the help

195/40/16
195/45/16
205/40/16
205 tyre is just wider than the 195 tyre.
Best all round is 195/45/16 i think. Pics on my site for a 35mm/40mm drop on 16"s on a 195/45.

that was my point nobhead.
if you have a 16" rim with a 45 profile it will give the correct rolling radius on a 195 tyre

195/40/16 are closest to the original rolling radius but 195/45's are fine, 205's are too wide for 16's it wont handle any better and ya steering will be too heavy

erm.... isnt the 45 profile the percentage of the width, so it does matter to the width??????
