...done an open pit lane day today. Had such fun!! Love the car, the way it drives/handles etc. Just needs more power. Few of the pics i bought.

Will be stripping the car soon for buckets/harnesses/cage, and getting it as light as possible, and a few engine mods, and get a cheap daily.

Awesome mate if you go down any route then I'd go for lairy cams and TB's, turbo/SC is a head ache and will cost you far far more.

First time ive done it in the 106, did it in my old car (Clio 182)

Dont really use tyres fast no, scrubbed a fair bit off today, but wouldnt say its bad. I run Toyo T1R's, so only about £200 for 4, so i couldnt give a shit probly did 2mm at most on the fronts today.

Cheers for comments lads, i like the raised bonnet myself.

i took my clio 197 to olton yesterday! got my track tyres (a048's) down to canvas in the centre of the tread.....whoops! so went back to my road tires thats are toyo's and found them really good fun :-)

prob with small hatches is that they are great on the bends but on straights dont have power to overtake things easily! can be frustrating sometimes!

swap to decent tyres and you'll use even less

Road tyres just get too hot on track and you take the edge off them (the square edges of the tread blocks)

adam, i used my road toyo tires in morning on friday for few runs on track and they were screeching like mad and pretty useless, then in afternoon after using track tires went back to them and grip levels then with same tires were loads beta! wot could have caused that! in the end did fastest time of the day on my road tires! admitidly my track tires were very shot!

I imagine track tyres will be better, but handled really well for road tyres, had a very sideways moment at one point, managed to keep it all ok and didnt spin

Was £240 for Saturday, they don't do many days at croft, think theres a few more this year there but are quieter db days. That was a 105db limit, expensive for a track day really, but good fun and it's a good track!
