If the guy in the passenger seat was your brother, would you brush it off with "everyone makes mistakes"?

do you know him personally? the reason wy people are not really bothered is because he won't impact their lives all that much by dieing.
when it's someone in the family obviously it affects you more, but we live in a bubble nowadays and anything that goes on outside the bubble doesn't really affect peoples lives all that much.

The passenger is just as at fault imo. He was likely also drunk, knew Ryan was drunk, got in the car of his own free will, undoubtedly had a grin on his face as they climbed to 130mph, etc. etc.
I personally would like to know what exactly happened to cause them to crash, i.e. What mistake whilst driving was made, bit of lift off round a bend or something, animal ran out, etc... Could quite easily of happened when not pissed.

Apparently the road raises a bit where they lost control. At 130mph I bet that was a bum twitcher.

Terrible shame, I was quite shocked when I heard it but, if it was due to alcohol that he crashed then it's his own fault and I don't really have any sympathy.
Look at this video, you can see how long the straight is before he crashed, not surprised he was at 130mph+ and simply missed his turning. He must have drove that road a million times so why was his judgement so bad?

Skip to 2.10 in this one.
He vandalised the rental van like it was some premonition. Not really had a position on this up until now but the more I see, the more I get one.

Officials say the toxicology results for both men -- which would help determine the role alcohol played in the crash -- will be released in 4 to 6 weeks. "

It's quite scary to think what was going through their heads when they realised they werent going to make that turn, at that speed I bet it was pretty fucking scary. Chances are they died on impact but being conscious, trapped in a car that bursts in to flames would be far worse.

It's the same, UK system generally expresses it as 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, which equates to 0.08%
