I can't do the maths but probably quite high.
Same as people argue 1,2,3,4,5,6 has the same chance of appearing in the lottery as 6 random numbers, it doesn't.

Don't loads of people buy those numbers anyway?
I bet it won't ever happen in our lifetime

It won't happen because 6 consecutive numbers won't come up as often as 6 non consecutive numbers, I would say ever but it is technically possible.

i agree with john. the likelyhood of a combination of numbers such a that is much less than a combination of random numbers.
proven by the fact they've never come up as far as i'm aware.

But the simple fact is the probability of any number coming out is exactly the same

I've just worked out how I'm wrong, I think.
The chance of 1,2,3,4,5,6 coming out in that order is lower than random numbers.
Coming out in any order though the chance is exactly the same as any combination of numbers.

Yes it may seem less likely because you are saying specific numbers, it doesnt mean they are less likely to come out
You are basically picking 6 numbers there, 1,2,3,4,5,6. What you are comparing it to is any numbers coming out, not the same

Getting 1,2,3,4,5,6 is the same as getting random numbers, ie: 1 in ~13.9m (exact chance is 1 in '49! / (6! x (49 - 6)!)')

I don't think coming out in that order is the same.

You're right; getting those 6 balls in number order is less at 1 in (720 x 13,983,816) than getting those balls in a scattered order 1 in 13,983,816.
Think that's correct.....
Edit - so getting the balls in the order of 1,2,3,4,5,6 is 1 in 10068347520.
There is a Wiki page that has a few Lottery equations that's worth a read, will have to dig it up

Blackjack is technically the only game where you can predict what is going to happen next, and what cards are going to show
