what's best for keeping the intake temps down e.g hight or thickness?

I think it's more to do with the litre of the intercooler rather than height or thickness, obviously the higher the life the bigger the intercooler, and the height and width would just depend on how much room you have for it. But I could be wrong and I am sure someone will correct me if I am

the bigger the intercooler the lower the temp however you have to factor in the larger the cooler the larger the pressure drop you will get across it

i have a modded escort cossie IC its about 3'' in hight and 3'' thick and the size of a number plate. just woundering if that will be adiquate for a c20let with stage two chips?

According to the Internet the biggest possible. The mount it on the front of your car in order to tell other people you have a turbo.

Id say yes. I ran the same size but less thickness on phase 3.5 and it ran perfectly.

I use Forge 100 series cooler with 2.5 outlets, Look on the site for sizes but its half the size of other peoples coolers around that are running kkk16's, as said about the bigger you go the larger the pressure drop. Which means in turn that the setup will "lag" more and wont feel as punchy!!! You want it to be as efficient as possible with the shortest route piping too!!!

Its not to tell people i have a turbo ad rather keep it a sleeper i just want it to be as efficient as possible.

moneys tight so forge is out of the qustion till it's set up properly and every little thing niggel worked out.
