Brett has the nail on the head there. I can't really think of any plugging/advertising from Tom other than the occasional thread on something nice that he's had in that people would appreciate, and with Rich he's not advertising as much as giving detailing nutters like myself something to drool over for a bit. Same goes for Blukoo posting his brother's write-ups - it's because it's something interesting to read and he gets some very nice exotic cars in which car enthusiasts in general will like looking at pictures of. Nobody on here is ever going to get their car detailed there realistically, partly because it's a unit based company in Scotland, and partly because their market is now more high end cars rather than mass-produced hatchbacks due to the quality of their work and the prices reflect this.
Also as John said, these threads are about the only ones that are spambanter-free at the moment
Edit: Just seen that there's a third page Basically, I agree with the third page

Take him out back and shoot him?
Let it be IMO, if he carries on and like me and you have seen a number of times over the past if hes any good, he will get too busy will start to let people down and disapear like every other internet based company.
People like Tom who don't even have to advertise to drum up business will always be here and have repeat business because he has earnt respect and does a fantastic job time and time again.
If SprayShack does that then great, these two threads alone are enough of a advertisement alone TBH

it would be good imo if that feedback was somehow linked to the thread they are trying to sell on.
it would be alot easier to click on a link perhaps near there name instead of searching various pages on good trade section for there name. just an idea, it may well be alot of effort to maintain though

You don't need to search pages, go to Search, put the username in the 'Search for' box and change the forum to Good Trades.

Even if Rich H stopped posting write up's etc, mostly everyone who uses this forum knows who he is / what he does. Same with warren and tom.
Does everything have to be justified, and even if the answers that Ian referred to as being vague at the start of the thread, then traders like sprayshack will just have to live with the fact they cant just join sites like cs to habe no involvement or contribution to day to day threads, discussions and car related problems. Fair enough a cruise site etc but this is an owners club at the end of the day and should expect the chance that he could get turned away or stopped from advertising.
Iv never saw rich warren or tom post offering discounts etc to gain more business, and imo this is why they are different from sprayshack and should be allowed to continue doing what they do, which is just basically being part of cs and contributing to the community

So delete the Spray Shack thread and ban him for disregarding the rules?

If hes not allowed to advertise like he has then he probably isnt going to use the site anyway as it appears he has no interest in the forum apart from getting income for himself and no valid contribution. Even after you said about the policy he made the thread and still continued to post. Not taking sides at all but does seem unfair on the resident business owners on cs when hes making threads to advertise and gain income when they dont / arent allowed to as their adhering to the traders policy
Out of 20 posts he has made 19 are in his own thread advertising.

accounts that are used soley for trading shouldnt be allowed on the site. if they use the site as anyone else does on here, and generate business that way(ie rich etc) then fair enough. to bring more money in promote premium membership for existing users, dont introduce a traders forum

And is it easy to call this correctly in every case?
What about an example in gardenspoon, who only registered to promote his Youtube channel, which in turn earns him money?
I'm sure there are other borderline cases. Talking about Rich and Tom is easy because you can clearly see a contribution. But what does that constitute? One single post that isn't business related? That gets around the bit about solely registering to do business. And if one isn't enough, how many? Three? Three percent? Three per day?

So ban then? Delete the post and keep deleting it?
Then ban?
And do what with his Prem? Keep it?

Just let him advertise on classifieds - once he has made the correct number of posts? And if he wants to plug his work now and again then let him
