Got a 1.6 16v in mine, air filter, straight through exhaust and i averaged about 32mpg on a good run.
Not filled it up completely to see how many miles i get to a tank in a long while though. May try it next pay day

is that 115 miles of stopping and starting around town/short journeys or 115 miles dual carriageway driving ?...

Do the X14/X16 XE engines run rich as standard?
I used to get 260 miles to a full tank in the ep3 when it was standard, now after mods and remap I get over 300!
IMO an efficient 2ltr+ engine will always be better on fuel than a little engine... maybe not around town but on the bigger / higher speed roads they'll always be better due to less stress on engine etc...

Around town I'd expect 25mpg ish. My 35 is mostly sat at 70/80mph for long periods.
Mine is a 1.4 too, although has powerbox etc.

Driving back from cornwall, left with a full tank, 280 miles later when i got home still had over a quarter left.
Thats an x16xe with a cone filter and full exhaust, and a boot full of potatos and wine!
