And heres a geeky spec list:
* OS .50 SX-Max ringed engine.
* Orange RX 9ch full-range receiver.
* Henge 8A UBEC.
* FlyMentor 3D stabilisation system.
* Futaba S9255 tail servo.

Electric is defo the way to go! Its much safer and far more convienient but when it comes to the big scale stuff its not really financially viable because the batteries cost £100's each and last about 8 minutes when a full tank of nitro will last 20-25 minutes.
For example:

And you'd want atleast two!

I've moved onto even bigger models so this is up for sale.
Here is everything you need to fly except for a LIPO charger.
The HobbyKing 500-CMT is a fully upgraded T-Rex 500 Clone, its 100% Align/T-Rex compatible and is mostly finished in carbon fibre and CNC'ed aluminium.
This helicopter comes complete with a speed controller, motor, servos, motor, receiver, transmitter and gryo! All you need to add is a lipo charger!
The specifications are as follows:
Spektrum DX6i Controller
Align RCE-BL75G (with governor).
Turnigy Typhoon Outrunner.
Turnigy TGY-930 digital metal gear high torque collective servos.
9257MG high speed metal gear tail/gyro servo.
Full CNC aluminium head & collective.
Orange R610 - 6 channel Spektrum DSM compatible receiver.
GA-250 Gyro (Spartan Quark Clone).
Composite Main blades.
Nylon Tail blades.
This is a great setup for anything from beginer to full 3D flight!
All Yours for £250!

Geeky update I'm getting a bit better with the Helicopters and the planes are taking a back-seat so I thought I'd treat myself to a new toy

Haven't read the thread through but I saw a guy flying what looked to be a P51-d Mustang over Cookham moore. It was soo cool
Clearly remote control but even sounded remotely (excuse the pun) like a proper piston engined fighter. Was so cool!

Is it as difficult as it looks? I'd be petrified of crashing it.

Its ridiculously hard, but the challenge actually makes it fun
But the coaxial stuff (twin rotor) are piss easy to fly
