Right, want to get a website offering IT services together.

I get the gist of how everything works but I'm not a web developer and I'm out of date with using anything after simple HTML.

I plan on getting a bit more in depth in the near future but atm don't have time.

For the moment the site will probably actually be static but would be nice to have it based on a CMS that I can easily update.

Got hosting sorted out and it has some of the easy install scripts available. I've had a play with the wordpress one but it always ends up just looking like a blog, which I don't want, I want it to look like a normal website, just one that I can easily add content to if need be.

I've copied a list of what the cpanel can install, what do you think would be best for me?

Is wordpress actually suitable for what I want, just that I'm rubbish and that's why it still looks like a blog? Am I going down completely the wrong track?

I'm quite happy to spend time getting something working if it's the best option, I want it to be plain, simple and modern looking, but also not looking like I've just flung something together in frontpage.

Wordpress
BuddyPress
Joomla
Mambo
Concrete5
SugarCRM
Drupal

There are various other things but they look like the main subjects of interest to me.

Wordpress and if you get stuck (you can remove the blog and just use pages) then there are plenty of tutorials about.

Another for Wordpress. You can use it for pages or a blog, plus there are endless extensions for it to do whatever you like. Other systems like Joomla and Drupal seem really overboard for small sites and also seem pretty tricky to customise and make decent themes for (in comparison).
