Right so the new HD version of the eBay keyring cam has arrived 
Did a quick blast through the newly opened Hindhead tunnel the other day to test it.
Footage is good quality tbh, but it's recorded in .Mov format - which Windows Live Movie Maker doesn't like it seems (even though it shows that it can handle this file format?  )
I've tried converting it to .AVI but I lose audio for some reason.
Is there a programme out there that can edit .Mov files yet is easy to use? Or have I just wasted £30?

A .mov file is a Quicktime format. It seems that you need to convert the file before you can edit it, so try using WinFF of Handbrake to convert the video into AVI, MPEG or WMV and then you should be able to work with it.

i wouldnt look to convert it or if you do not to an avi, you would be really compressing it again, sort of defeats the reason of going HD

I did try converting it to AVI but it lost the audio, and yeh was crap quality.
Will see what I can find to convert it to something else. Failing that, if I was to 'purchase' Adobe Premiere or something, would that handle it in .MOV format?

Converting it to another format won't loose quality if you keep the bitrates the same. What did you use to convert it first time round?
Premier is a hefty piece of software, avoid using it if you have to.

There would be a loss in quality, depends on what tool you use to how noticable it would be.
Thats why all mkv's now use h264 codec as opposed to divx etc as at the same bitrate a h264 video would be far better

I can't actually remember what it was tbh, but it was free, so probably not all that great - hence the severe change in quality etc
