Thinking of going away for New Year, probably around the 29th dec 2011 to 6th Jan 2012.
Looking for a lazy beach holiday in a decent 4* or 5* Hotel.
Am thinking one of the Canary Islands? Meant to be around 20 degrees C during January?
Anywhere else hot that Time of year? Dont want to go too far (ie no transatlantic or flights to Asia!).
Anyone Canary Island veterans? Which one is best for beaches/scenery. Any other destination suggestions?
Will NOT be a nightlife holiday
Cheers.

Sharm is nice at Christmas but it's not exactly hot.
The latest ive been to the canaries was the end of October and it was fairly warm then but probably won't be at Christmas.

Well all my searches show 18-20 as the average temperature. Of course there may be some days where it is hotter or slightly cooler.
Sharm is like 40 degrees or some shit in Summer isnt it? surley derka derka land must be circa 20 in Winter?

It was only just 20 average when I was there 6 years ago. It was miles better than being in England tho!

Yeah it's not bad it's just not hot. We were all sat on the beach Christmas day in shorts and it was fine. Bit chilly at night but a few beers warms you up.

In my experience it doesn't make any difference. If you've seen a deal you fancy now then get it booked!
