about 1/2 hour ago i was sitting at the traffic lights with a lairy nova driver sat behind, so i thought i would show him some XE power and pulled away gently and then slammed it right up to 6500rpm, then changed into 2nd, i looked behind and noticed lots of smoke through the headlight beam of the nova. Would i normally get smoke during heavy acceleration?

yeah it was greyish/blue, but might have been white cos of the headlights. I found out yesterday that oil hasnt been changed since 2000!!! well about 14k miles. No wonder engine running shitty. Gotta strangle Vauxhall then change oil next weekend. grrrrrr.

rev limiter is there for a reason, stops engine getting damaged. Dont do a good job of it though! I very rarely go above 5500 rpm anyway, pretty pointless as torque drops off. Running very high engine speeds is ok as long as car is looked after, unlike mine, which is desperate for oil change! I only got it at chrimbo and they told me they changed the oil and filters but didnt. wankers
