In the engine bay there is the black plate on the slam panel that has chassis number ect..
How do i get a new one? Or can I remove it and leave it off?
It's just bugging me because the black paint has started to chip off.
Thanks

Just pull it off if you want, chassis number is on dash board and in foot well anyway.
It makes no odds whatsoever but it might but some people off if they notice it when you come to sell the car.

Just pull it off, I don't think PC Plod will be under the bonnet of a 10 year old car tbh.

Vauxhall wont help.
Remove it, Put it in the glovebox, It only matters that its missing if you sell it and dont tell the new owner etc, PC plod might be a wanker about it but nowt illegal.
My corsa only has it where its stamped on the car as I changed the dash and my slam panel is smoothed.
Edit: You can get new ones made, Dont have to be the same as the factory one at all, I got a carbon one made for my old nova.

what makes you think that? :s
if you got pulled over by a vosa car they will check EVERYTHING. number plates and vin are a biggie, they will get suspicious if they look under the bonnet and see that the vin plate has been drilled out. has the car been in a crash sir? is this a different front end from another car sir?
are the numbers raised on the plate?
spray the plate black then cover in masking tape and gently sand away the raised numbers to reveal them leaving the background in black behind

If it's stamped and imprinted it can you not spray it and then scrape the paint out of the letters so they are visable silver again?

Mabie, but can see it being a mass nightmare.
And the numbers are tiny little things so will be very differcult. For what it's worth il leave it if I can't get a new one. And just touch it up lol

you can only do this if the letters are raised
