Van got broken into right outside my house last night, they jammed something down the side of the passenger door lock and got in.
They only took a radio (still £90 mind) as most of my tools were at work.
Any ideas on security? I've looked at those lock covers but they are near on £200, fuck that. Garage PIR alarm maybe?

Just get a decent alarm. Things like clifford and cobra, you can pay monthly if money is an issue. For your tools you could also get somethig called a van vault. Its a big metal chest that bolts to the van floor and can be locked. They can be quite expensive and you wont be able to fit all your tools in there.
I dont know what you do as a job but they could be a good investment. I would rather spend £200 on the vault than spend £800+ every time my van got broken into for new electrical testers for example.

I'm not keeping this van for long, month tops so don't want to spend a lot on it. New van has extra locks etc on it.
Might just chuck a garage PIR alarm in it. I'll be able to hear that go off easily

My next door neighbours van is always getting broken into. He's drilled a hole through the sliding door, stuck a bike lock through it, wrapped it round the passenger door handle and then back through the hole and then padlocked to a welded hook inside the van
He was telling me about it, that the lock is a really expensive one that bolt cutters can't go through...When I asked if bolt cutters would go through the door handle he looked a bit pissed

what a tool.
Shame we can't jaw those flame throwers under the sills like those Russians invented. I'm sure I could rig an alarm up to some of those!

Borrow 2 attack dogs, sit one in the back and one on the passenger seat, then watch some one break in.
On a serious note, nothing will stop them, if they really want too.

Best bet is to put a hasp and staple on the inside of the side loading door that you can get to from the cab area of the van, put a decent lock on it. Back the van right up to a wall or park a vehicle right up to the back of the van to stop them opening them from open. Imo alarms mean shit all nowadays, no one takes any notice of them, and if they want it, they will get it. You just need to make their job as hard as possable.

If you was keeping it longer Id say dead locks, Still not impossible but I've seen somebody try to break into a trafic with dead locks and that wasn't very fast at all, Or quiet.
Alarms still act as a deterrent, People expect that if a alarm goes off everybody will go running out, Its not true, If your not in ear shot, Not worth it.

id just spend a night hiding outside with the van deliberately unlocked waiting for the cunts. once they come take a baseball bat to them, if they dont get away take them hostage, tie them to a chair and let corsa sport members come round to take turns in cutting fingers off. could charge a good few quid per finger and before you know it you'll have you £90 back

you could fit a yale lock to the bottom of the door, weld a slot into the sill for the lock to go in to
