After test driving the M5 myself, I would happily argue that too.
For every day use, the M5 struggles to make sense because power is far too high up in rev range.

two totally different cars, m5 is a complete weapon, i agree a mapped 535d is awesome, but still no match for an m5 when its driven properly.

One is a lazy car the other is a drivers car IMO!

No doubt about it. I know exactly which is more desirable. M3 and M5 are lovely. I could sit there and rev the engine all day long.
But, to live with as your everyday only car... It's not all that. Thirsty, expensive, high maintenance.
The power seems too far away when you want to play (on private track, with street lamps and road signs, of course )

As an everyday car that satisfies your urge to go fast, I find the torque from a nice diesel to be spot on. Especially once remapped.
Torque is a sensible sensation of going fast IMO BTW FTW LOL ETC.

All I ever hear on here is mpg this mpg that. But tbf, people have just realised they can actually own better cars if they don't cost £70 to fill up every 10 mies.

People who are a bit short on cash and also eco warriors probably
And if you buy a car that's already expensive to fill up then in a few months who knows where the fuel prices will be.
Also I think people have a responceability to pick something a little bit forgiving, what's the point to use a natural resource inefficiently, more we use the quicker it shall run out and less for other generations but well who wouldn't like to own a m5 it's an immense machine.

Some people care alot about MPG, Im looking at diesels now, like a clio 1.5 dci and they do 64mpg, heard some people gettting a bit more then that to, most of the fuel is a big fat tax so puts me off paying stupid amounts just so the govenment can put it toward their pensions and spend it on other awful things like arms production.

I'd buy a car for MPG if it's a work horse, but I barely drive my car so doesn't matter. Saying that I'm still a bit unsure if I could stomach the M3's 22 average as you know it'll never do that either

whereas i cover anything from 1,000-2,000miles a month so MPG matters

its not a weekend toy.
