Ideal though as you only need a place to kip. You'll be out for 12+ hours every day.
We stayed opposite that upside down house on i-drive.

the pool areas were good which is a good thing, you are either asleep, in the parks or by the pool

stayed in the clarion on universal drive which is straght across the road from wet and wild and 10 mins walk from islands of adventure.
deffo fly drive man.. theres so much more to see in florida than just orlando...
we started in orlando drove down the west coast stayed in naples for 1 night, key west fro 3 nights, miami for 2 nights holywood beach for 2 nights and back to orlando for 3 nights.. stayed in the gay lord palms when we got back to orlando which was cool.. a bit out of the way though.
make sure you go to busch gardens in tampa if you into rollercaosters...
