Apart from buying things occasionally I have also set up an eBay shop for my business to sell various things like refurbished PCs, new motherboards bundles, etc. etc.
Anyway yesterday I sold a motherboard bundle for £295. According to their price structure I should have been charged a final value fee of £7.52 (taking into account the fact I am VAT registered and so am exempt from paying 15% Luxembourg VAT, and also that they charge the FVF on shipping as well as the auction item ).
I notice in my 'seller account' section that I have been charged £7.67 for the FVF on this item. As I type this I am currently in an online chat session with someone that just copies and pastes text from their website, but when I asked what the 15p difference is, they said "In order to resolve this issue for you I will need to escalate this to a specialised team who will investigate your concerns and send you a reply via email." after I explained the calculations to them.
Assuming that I won't get an email back from them (never did so in previous chat sessions about other things in the past), is there anything else I can do apart from not use eBay again?
I know it's only 15p but I am planning on putting up a few hundred items on my eBay shop so it all adds up!

It's their train set so they charge what they want. If you want the global coverage ebay provides then it comes with a premium. Surely though, you pay the VAT and then claim it back next quarter like normal purchases?
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Unfortunately not, they are based in Luxembourg so anything they bill has 15% Luxembourg VAT (not 20% UK) added to it. If you are VAT registered then all you have to do is give them your VAT number and you are exempt from paying it, which I have done.
Bit complicated to explain, it's some kind of reverse VAT stuff which my accountant tried to explain to me once
But essentially, I get billed with no VAT from eBay.
BTW - my gripe isn't with them charging high fees, it's with them charging me more than they are supposed to!

Is that not including a 15p listing fee?
FVF are not charged on shipping for me?? I only pay FVF on selling price, not the shipping as well.
Thats why all the china listings are 99p and £50 postage etc.

BIN fee is 10p/listing for my eBay shop. The FVF doesn't include a listing fee as far as I can make out (that's charged separately at the time of submission).
Edit - looks like only ebay.com are charging FVF on shipping, UK one doesn't according to this.
Hmmm... The plot thickens
