Ok so i have a 3GS as im not elite enough for a 4S, however i want iOS5 question is am i going to regret installing it and have to sack off my phone due to not being able to roll back the software?
So basically has anyone installed the latest firmware on a 3GS if so has it negatively effected it at all?
Cheers

Apple do this to piss you off and make you buy a new one, they did it on my 3G with ios4, bloody irritating, it was so slow it was unusable so I sold it.

I've done it. It is a bit slower but not enough to make me want to go back to the old software. (Not that I could anyway)

It should make your 3GS faster than it was on 4.X.X.

I've got a brand new 3GS but Facebook still shuts down from time to time which makes me think that ios5 would be slow as hell so I'm not bothering

I've got it on my 3GS and the only slow thing I've got is when I lock my phone, the click sound happens a couple of seconds later than normal.

Dont hav a ifone m8
Wee brother was also flapping his gums about when it sends a text to someone with an iPhone it uses iMessenger which is shite considering you don't get 3G everywhere.
Don't know if that's a configurable setting right enough.

Does it not automatically send it as a normal text if you have no 3G or wifi? Not been in a position to try it. Mind you if you have 3G signal and it sends it as an iMessage what's to say the person on the other end has 3G too? If they don't then they won't get the message.

I read that if iMessenger is available then it will send to them so i'm guessing it knows whether they have 3g signal or not and if you do.
Mine's switched from iMessenger to texts a couple of times now so it must be ok to use
