Just wondering what engine is in this Corsa as in model number and any one know the specs of it? Need to know if it can be tuned a little easily or is it fast enough for b roads for some rallying I do?

Cheers

If you get hold of a 1.4 MPI SRi engine, you'll add 25bhp, then with a few other bits it'll see 110-115bhp.

In all honesty, a Nova GSi engine would be a more cost effective swap.

Are there class limits on engine size or is it recreational road rallies?

No limitations apart from my budget. Don't really want to be doing engine swaps.

It's just trying to find a solid Corsa with a good engine in it. Preferably a 8v as there so much easier to work on. I don't need fast but just need nippy and good acceleration.
Bodywork obviously I don't care about.

Anyone got anything going? I wanted a nova but they go for to much now.

If you want a cheap Corsa try to find an SRi, the SPI engine is crap but the MPI is a lot better.

If you get a 1.4 8v SRi, swap the cam for a second hand fast road one, get a second hand exhaust system and strip the crap out of it.

Mine was a decent car with a full interior!

ditto at 18 my old one had (once sold)

Sri 8v engine
Modd'd airbox k&n panel air filter
2nd hand rally spec cam
Full exhaust system + decat pipe and manifold
ported and polished head
veriner pully (spell?)
stripped out
decent brakes, decent suspension
I love'd it (sold to a good mate so went in it and drove it a few times)

Speed wise?
quick enough for 18 tbh i guess it kinda felt like vtec when the cam kicked in (iirc rally spec came comes into play at 4k rpm) before that it felt quite slow but after that it was differcult to get traction in the wet (standard tyres :lol

why not pick up a corsa gsi? or one thats already had a transplant? (corsa 10v with gsi lump or something?)

I had the same engine in my van. its the c14nz. about 60bhp

quite nippy for a little petrol but i think that was due to the back being empty

It's an X14SZ, as already posted.

Single point, 60 brake, 14.5 seconds to 60.
