Curious to see what you need to do this check-in, if it's anything like the Facebook ones it's entirely blaggable because the device is trusted to supply the geo fix.

on android you can use fake gps app to check in anywhere according to hukd.
i tried to check in just not and it says you need to be in store and they dont show up outside of the shops opening hours

If it knows you're not in store then it must have some secondary fix, like your mac is known to the wifi access points.

Although you could spoof the mac as well.
