John is right there. PV panels are expensive and you need a lot of area to get a decent amount of power out of them. They probably could cover the roof in them but then it would be liable to breaking and make the car way more expensive than it already is.

I saw one of these on the road today and wondered what the hell it was. Thought I saw a Vauxhall badge, but thought I must have imagined it.
