Still think the easiest way is like Ice Hockey but have it linked to the refs ear piece instead of a sirens and flashing light when the entire ball crosses the line
Turns out it's through the refs watch.... "4. The indication of whether a goal has been scored will only be communicated to the match officials (via the referee's watch, by vibration and visual signal)"
And turns out someone is testing my idea... "The Adidas-backed firm Cairos, whose system utilises an electronic sensor inside the match ball and electromagnetic strips buried under the goal and penalty area lines, are also in contention."

would be easier to have a pinhole camera in the corner of the goal, it wont take two seconds to have a look at the playback and then decide.

i'm massively against this.
there is things that need fixing first, like players being banned for diving after the game, happens every game, how often do these goal line confusions happen?
besides, thats what makes football magical, the what if's, the did it didnt it's and the constant reference to goals that never were.

Its hard to tell these days when a player has dived though, where do you draw the line, when theres no contact? When there's a bit of contact? or a bit more contact? Its up for interpretation of the person watching (apart from hugely blatant ones)
Goals are what football is about, they make a DEFINITE difference to the outcome. Sending offs/Dives/Pens do not, they may contribute but you could not definitely say that had someone been sent off/a pen given that the result would have changed.
Whats more a goal line decision is not something up for interpretation, its either mathematically in or it isn't, no maybe. So it doesn't ruin any of the what ifs, because there is no did it/didnt it when it comes to goals. It simply is one, or it isn't one.
Goals are football, thats what the game is about, scoring more than the opposition, so it makes the game look very foolish when you get goals that arent/are that were/werent. Its at the very heart of the game, the whole reason we play/watch and something that needs to be right, everything else is just part of the game.

Surprise Surprise. The idea that is currently leading the way is the one developed by the company that has its fingers well and truely inside FIFA already.
I think if they can do it I am for it. The who non-sense about it slowing the game is complete rubbish for the over the line tech as its so simple. If it goes over then the whistle is blown as its a goal. If it did not go over its game on. Play to the whistle and it has no impact to the speed of the game.
