can tell if the car is crabbing in a straight line also knocking and banging

gearbox check for noises under load and in neutral for any sort of whirring with the clutch out

Loads of places seem to do re-conned back axles so like you say it appears to be a pretty common issue. Dont seem too expensive but I reckon it would be a ballache of a job to do on my own in my garage.

May even add an LSD to the box eventually so if it went I dont think it would be a disaster!

Gearbox can be uprated by a few companies, use larger bearings from another car.

Gutted. My mate had 105 ZR, it handled really well, out of the box.

With the BRM having the 1.8 I reckon you could get a few extra ponies out of it. The LSD is a must have on any track car imo.

also if your seriously thinking of buying it take a jack. If the rear beam is shagged they will have camber on them when on level ground then once both wheels are off the ground you will feel play in them. A jangling noise may just be loose ARB plates

An XE Corsa and a Saxo VTS are differently worlds in terms of handling.

should be easy to get the saxo to sub 850kgs,thats with just stripping parts off.
few people have them under 800kgs with a 19k cage. lightest i have heard off is 750kgs. no dashboard, no inner door skins. also with a cage.
