Been researching block's as I'm planning making a coffee table to go with my chrome piston ashtray.

Saw this on the bay while searching v8 blocks

Pretty cool, but £3.5k? no ta.

Think I've narrowed it down to a Bmw straight six, or Rover V8

I have a design for the V8 That's a bit different so I'd rather get one of them.

My mate got a v12 550 (yes ferrari) block to do this. We never got round to doing it though so sold it to a french guy on ebay.

If i/he knew they were fetching that we would of done it.

I've got an 18" Porsche Turbo Twist wheel i've been wanting to turn into a little coffee table for a while.
Never got round to it. Might make it my project for after the new year though...

I looked quick on there for "v8 block" can get jag ones for under £100, get an engineering place to fabricate a fancy face plate and give it a good clean

not really my thing though, I find this automotive stuff looks cheap even when it's not.

i've got a rover v8 thats sat outside for a couple of year, feck know if it works still, Not even got 10,000miles on it

Shame, there was a massive aluminium v8 in the scrappy the other day, in the ally pile, probably would have cost a tenner.
I'll loook as I'm up there tomorrow.
