Registered with edition38, shall get onto UKPassats too.

Copied from e38:

Central Locking isn't working from the remote fob. Works fine from the drivers door lock, just the remote fob doesn't work. Wee red light comes on when using the fob, but doesn't do anything to the car!
Radio will not turn off automatically when the key is removed from the ignition, I have to turn it off manually. Not a major issue, but I'm likely to forget sometime and come back to a flat battery!
What is the minimum size wheels to suit? 17" Audi rims are currently fitted, 225/45/17's aren't too good in the snow though! Have a set of 5X112 15" steels fitted with snow tyres, but will they clear the brakes?

Drivers door handle is quite sticky, I've heard its quite a common problem, handle will not return to normal position by itself, has to be pushed back in or the door wont shut! WD40 job?

I presume its not the standard stereo thats in the car. It sounds like it needs re-wired as its getting a permanent live.

15's will probably be fine. Thats the size that 130 Golf GT TDI's were supplied with.
